Massage Therapy involves the use of the Therapist’s hands and arms to knead, stroke, squeeze and stretch the client’s soft tissue- muscles, connective tissue and joints. It is effective in reducing musculoskeletal tension and pain, reducing inflammation and swelling as well as improving mobility.

For those experiencing pregnancy or who have recently given birth, finding a comfortable position may be a challenge. With the use of pregnancy bolsters that have a cut out for your belly, Massage Therapy can be provided in the face down position very comfortably. Side lying position with pillows and bolsters is another option. Massage Therapy can be very beneficial and relieving in addressing the aches and pains that often arise with the body’s changes during this time.

Cupping Therapy includes the use of plastic cups and suction to life and separate tissue layers. This is helpful in treating scar tissue and adhesions, allowing for greater mobility and improved lymphatic flow. Just like traditional massage, the intensity of the treatment can always be adjusted. Note that cupping does result in temporary marks that may last about a week.
